Asisat Oshoala is a Nigerian female footballer who broke into limelight when she became the Most Valuable Player and top scorer in the 2014 Women’s U-20 World Cup, as Nigeria finished runners-up to Germany. She was born on the 9th of October 1994, she plays as a striker for NWSL club Bay FC and Nigeria super falcons, she is widely regarded as one of the greatest African female footballers of all time after winning the African footballer of the year six times. Before joining Bay FC, she played for Arsenal Barcelona, Liverpool, Dailan, River’s angels and FC ROBO

In 2015, while still with Arsenal, Oshoala won the 2015 FA women’s cup, she was also named the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year same year. She was the first African player to score a goal in a UEFA womens champions league final that helped Barcelona reach the semi-finals for three consecutive years, and one final, the first African woman to win the primera Divisions Pichichi Trophy and in August 2022 she became the first African woman to be nominated for ballon d’Or.
