Governor Dauda Lawal is helping girls in Zamfara stay in school. He gave money to 8,225 secondary school girls from 14 local government areas. He sees the need for girl child education for economic productivity in Zamfara. This money will help them stay in school and finish their education.

The event happened on Wednesday at the J.B. Yakubu State Secretariat in Gusau. The money was shared under two programs called ACRESAL and AGILE. These programs help families, schools, and communities.

Why Is This Important?

Many families in Zamfara do not have enough money for school fees. Some girls stop going to school because of poverty. Girl child education is very important because when a girl goes to school, she can have a better future.

Governor Lawal said, “When you educate a girl, you educate a village.” This means that when girls learn, their families and communities also get better.

How Much Money Will the Girls Get?

Each girl will get ₦40,000 to help her stay in school. Later, they will also get ₦10,000 for the second term and ₦10,000 for the third term. This means each girl will get a total of ₦60,000 in one school year.

The first group of girls will share about ₦322 million. The governor said more girls will get help soon in the second group.

Other Help for Communities

The governor also gave money to 500 people to help them start small businesses and farming projects. This is called the Community Revolving Fund. It will help people fight poverty, grow food, and take care of the land.

He told the people, “Use this money well. It is a seed. If you grow it, it will help your family and your community.”

Why Education Matters

Governor Lawal said education is one of the most important things for Zamfara. He promised to remove all problems that stop girls from going to school, like lack of money, poor roads, or other social problems.
