
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has praised the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria for its strong efforts in promoting justice, gender equality, and the protection of women’s and children’s rights.
She shared her appreciation during a courtesy visit from a FIDA delegation led by the group’s Country Vice President and National President, Mrs. Eliana Martins.
FIDA Described as a Key Partner in Gender Equality Advocacy
According to a statement from Mrs. Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Walson-Jack described FIDA as a powerful voice in the non-governmental sector. She emphasized the need for ongoing cooperation between civil society groups like FIDA and government bodies to achieve shared goals—especially in the areas of justice and equality.
Call for a Stronger Network of Women Lawyers
Mrs. Walson-Jack encouraged FIDA to strengthen its network of female lawyers across all states in Nigeria. She said this would help the organization reach more communities, especially at the grassroots level, and make a bigger impact in promoting gender equality and justice.
Recognition of a Global Achievement in Gender Equality Work
During the visit, Mrs. Walson-Jack congratulated FIDA member Mrs. Ezinwa Okaroafor on her new role as International President of FIDA. She described the appointment as well-earned, noting Mrs. Okaroafor’s years of hard work and commitment to equality through legal advocacy.
FIDA Vows Continued Support for Civil Service Reforms
In response, Mrs. Eliana Martins promised that FIDA would continue to support the Office of the Head of the Civil Service in its work. She praised Mrs. Walson-Jack as a strong and inspiring woman leader who is helping shape policies that benefit Nigerian women and promote gender equality.
